One thing that comes with having a destination is that you must have a 'local' reception at some point to accommodate all the friends and family that couldn't make the destination. This isn't a bad thing. In fact, it's a great thing - you get to bust out the wedding dress twice!! Plus, it's nice to celebrate with everyone at some point.
This afternoon, Erica and Brian had their Indy reception for everyone who couldn't make it to Mexico. And of course, those of us who are local and could make it to both attended both! It was a nice, low key deal at El Torito Grill on the northside of Indy... a Mexican restaurant, of course. It was really more of a casual, sit down luncheon where she and Brian tried to make it around and talk to everyone. And since they were dressed up in their wedding gear, everyone wanted pictures.
Our friend, Jen, made their cake for this reception - as usual, she did an awesome job! She kept with the beach theme and even have 'sand' and beach chairs as the topper. And the cake itself was amazing! It went well with the unusually warm day we were having... granted, not beach weather.... but nice, none the less.
So all in all, it was a great wedding and receptions... I think Eric grew tired of all the wedding stuff... but then he's a guy. Guys don't get that stuff. So I guess I'll let him get by.
